Todd McFarlane – The Amazing Spider-Man

McFarlane’s work on The Amazing Spider-Man and his short-lived run on Spider-Man was one of the main reasons I got into comics… I entered the world of Marvel around Spider-Man #6 and his work on Amazing always had an allure that few other runs had.

For the last twenty odd years I have been trying to put together the thirty-odd run of Amazing – and while I can no longer remember picking up many of the issues – victory is slowly looming on the horizon:

  1. Hi Butler

Man this is bringing back the memories and making me feel old. 😉 I remember when I was a lot younger and got the fever too. I had to have Todd McFarlane’s run on Spider-Man. I have the exact same set too. Acquiring Amazing Spider-Man 298-299 was the toughest for me at the time. It was cool to see the evolution of Todd’s style throughout the whole run.

Best of luck getting the rest of the set. Dean

    Hi Dean –

    Thanks for commenting.

It really is hard to believe it was over 20 years ago! I was *just* looking for some of the books I am missing on eBay… they are all there… but expensive and that’s why I haven’t completed the set yet! Will get there eventually…

    Cheers,
    Butler.
